Summary Post

This entrepreneurship blog has been a great project throughout the first semester.I have learned a lot about the various information systems that go into my product. We did not learn about Augmented reality, but i discussed it during my meeting with RJ and it seems like an extremely interesting concept.
I commented on three different blogs throughout the semester. One of the blogs i commented on was Greg Bukolt, http://gregbukoltist195project.blogspot.com another one of the blogs i commented on was Sharon Lee, http://entrepeneurshipsharonlee.blogspot.com. The last blog i commented on was Thaney Cockrell's, http://thcockrellist195.blogspot.com.
My idea has really come together for me. I now know all the different technological components that go into this idea. From social media to market the product, to using passive and active RFID chips and different databases for the servers to connect to the device, this project has been great. It was a great experience to come up with a product and evolve your product by learning new things week by week.

Networking

Networking and networks are key to the information technology field. Our product will use networks to get information to and from our home base and devices. The network is the one of the most crucial parts to our product.
Each device that is set up through our servers will have an IP address. This is essential for our devices to communicate with our servers. The first two sets of our numbers will be specific to our company while the next set will be the regional location and the last set will be the actual system.  Our devices will make a hypertext transfer protocol connection. We will follow the protocol and use digital packets to deliver our messages.
We will create our own domain name. Our domain name will be lostyorremote.com. Networking is crucial to our device because we will run our product of communication between a device and the host system. The various protocols will help our device run smoothly and efficiently.

Operating Systems/ Digital Color

Operating systems play a huge role in information technology. They manage hardware and software resources and are key components. The kernel and GUI play key parts in the OS as well. Digital color is important as well because of the many different color schemes that can be produced.
We will use the kernel to manage the memory of our devices, the order the processes are executed as well as how the info is sent and received. The functions that help run the OS will be key to the life of our product. We must manage the memory and keep the paging process as fast as possible. We will use file system management to store and access our files at the cable box base. Device management will be key as we need to determine the way the device will interface with our base computer system.
We will use different digital color schemes that light up for a couple of different reasons. The first is how far away the remote is from the base, red will be close while blue will be far. We will do this through  RGB and it will be relatively simple. The next will be an option based on the user. If the owner is a Syracuse university fan, he/she can use hexadecimal color to make far away be syracuse orange and close be syracuse royal blue or vice/versa.
Operating systems and digital color will serve in making our product better, more user friendly and better looking.

Input/ Output

A huge component of our product will be various input and output devices. Input and output devices are very important, especially in device tracking.
RFID cards will play a major role in the function of our product. We can use the RFID card to track our remote just as parents use readers to track their children. This is the most important component of our product because it is the primary function.
We will use active tags for a couple of reasons. One is because sometimes the distance your remote is away from the home computer system is more than three meters. The other being that the remote is already battery powered, so we will use this to expand our operating range.
This is how we will use input and output in our device, especially RFID cards, which are key to our device.

3rd post

We must use hardware to make our device work. We must have a good CPU and a device with a fair amount of memory. We will use the CPU as a receiver to receive messages from the main cable box. It will send our device message which will sound it of or give the consumer the exact location.
We can use USB ports to plug our remote in and transfer new information as we upgrade our system. We must have a significant amount of memory so our device can function at fast speeds so there is no lag time between when the page button is pressed and when the system activates.
Computer forensics do not play a big role in our product because no one will put valuable information on their remote control. However, if one watches controversial material on TV, they might want to product what they are doing.

2nd post

As a new business, we must ensure our company privacy as well as a good reputation. We must monitor our privacy setting as we use social media to expand our business. We cannot jeopardize our reputation however, which is why we will monitor google searches as well as forums where people will talk about our product.
We will use excel to chart our monetary expenses, as well as profits, dividends and other key financial areas. Excel is crucial in the workplace and our company will be no exception. We also must use this tool to see where our revenue is coming from and what we can do to improve our product financially.
Excel also enables us to make graphs and calculate scenarios if we expanded our product or if we moved to a different geographical location. These tools will help our product be the very best and give us a huge edge on the competition.
